Introducing: La Marzocco
Let us introduce you to La Marzocco! Founded in 1927 in the Italian city of Florence, La Marzocco have a longstanding history of excellence and innovation in the coffee industry.
Who are La Marzocco?
Founded by Italian brothers Giuseppe and Bruno Bambi. La Marzocco was named after the lion or marzocco, the symbol of the city of Florence. With the country renowned for its coffee culture, the brothers sought to produce their own coffee machine. It would be 12 years later that they introduced and patented the first horizontal boiler and the dual-boiler system with saturated brewing groups, which drastically improved temperature stability in coffee brewing and remains in use to this day.
Fast forward to 2026, and La Marzocco remain at the very forefront of coffee innovation, and next year, it will celebrate its 100th anniversary. While much has changed for La Marzocco, the business has remained close to its roots. The original factory now serves as a coffee museum and education centre known as Accademia del Caffè Espresso, where visitors can take a journey through a century of coffee innovation and heritage.
Now based in Scarperia, just North of Florence, the company recently introduced home espresso machines, the Linea Mini and Micra in 2015 and 2022, while remaining a fixture of coffee shops the world over. Hand-built to this day, their sophistication and robustness make them perfect for whatever is thrown at them, making them perfect for an entire weekend of coffee drinking and brewing!
