Introducing: Mossgiel organic dairy
It’s time to get up close and personal with the wonderful folk who are helping Glasgow Coffee Festival 2026 happen.
We couldn’t do what we do year in year out without the support of our partners, and few have supported us for as long or with as much passion as our friends at Mossgiel Organic Farm!
Who are Mossgiel?
An Ayrshire-based organic dairy farm, Mossgiel, does things differently and has done for quite some time! Not only do they lay claim to making the Best Milk in Scotland, but they’re also one of the UK’s most sustainable dairy farms. Established in 1948, Mossgiel, by their own admission, were for a long time tied to ‘Big Dairy’, but when milk prices collapsed in 2016, they decided to pivot, take their fate into their own hands, and go it alone. Taking issue with the lack of fairness, quality, and sustainability in the mainstream dairy supply chain, Mossgiel are determined to buck the trend and aim higher than your average farm. In doing so, the team have turned around Mossgiel’s fortunes by taking an organic-forward approach and pasteurising milk differently by brewing, not boiling, for a more satisfying glass. If you ask us, it’s the ultimate milk for creamy lattes and flat whites.

What’s more, Mossgiel uses no single-use plastic in their bottles or delivery methods, with glass bottles rinsed by customers before being returned for refills. Everybody wins!
This success has allowed Mossgiel to expand further, and the dairy opened its first dedicated coffee shop in 2020. They now have the award-winning Mossgiel Coffee House in Stewarton, Ayrshire.
Mossgiel at Glasgow Coffee Festival
So, apart from bringing delicious milk to the table, what else can you expect from these delightful dairy do-gooders? We had a chat with the team to find out exactly what they’ll be up to when they join GCF at the Briggait on the 18th & 19th of April.
Q: You've been involved with Glasgow Coffee Festival for a long time. What's kept you coming back after all these years?
We love the honesty, coffee people don’t pretend. It’s one of the few places where farmers, baristas, roasters and drinkers are all in the same room having the same conversation. No supply chain, just direct, honest feedback. It allows us to experience and show that what we’re doing actually matters.
You watch Baristas first-hand steam Mossgiel, and you can see immediately how the work on the farm translates into the cup. There’s nowhere to hide, how we like it!
Q: Why do you think Glasgow Coffee Festivals and others like it matter so much to the wider coffee community?
Because they protect standards. Coffee is one of the last parts of the food system where people still obsess over process. Origin, handling, and freshness all matter and milk should be part of the conversation too!
Festivals create space for challenge and let small producers stand next to bigger players and be judged on quality, not budget. It keeps everyone in the coffee ecosystem (farmers, importers, roasters, baristas, dairy farmers) sharp and creative; if one part cuts corners, everyone feels it. These standards are so important, and festivals are a part of that.
Q: What can people expect from Mossgiel at this year's event?
Good milk, no gimmicks. We’ll be pouring brewed organic milk that behaves properly in coffee - sweet, stable, and clean.
We’ll be chatting openly about how we produce our milk, brewed - not industrially processed, small-scale, zero single-use plastic and working towards more cow-with-calf supply as demand grows. If you've got a question, come and ask.
q: Anything else you'd like us to mention or promote that's coming up in 2026?
We don’t believe milk is a background ingredient; we believe it should stand up in the cup, and that’s what we’ll keep pushing forward.
Our 2026 is about depth, strengthening relationships with people who actually care about what's in the jug, continuing to fly the flag that milk should be handled more like coffee - with intention and growing cow-with calf supply properly as a functioning model.
So there you have it. Whether you’re after a flat white, cappuccino, cortado or latte at GCF26, Mossgiel will be there to take it to the next level. While there will be many out there already on the Mossgiel bandwagon, if you’re new to their delicious dairy deeds, believe the hype!
