GCF26 - Sam’s Cycle Club

Cycle club is back at Glasgow Coffee Festival for 2026 and we’re super excited to tell you all about it! Friend-of-the-fest Sam Kerr will be leading a relaxed 35km ride through Glasgow’s Southside on Sunday morning. You’ll start at the Briggait at 9am and get back in time to roll straight into Sunday afternoon at the festival from 2-6pm.

We caught up with Sam to tell us about herself and what you can expect at the fest!

Hey Sam, tell us about yourself…

My name is Sam and I run a  small Jewellery Company called Pure Mettle Jewellery. I’m currently training for my next Ultra Endurance race which is the Dales Divide. It’s a 600km coast-to-coast bikepacking race from Arnside to Scarborough and back again! I’m hoping to finish in under 60 hours…

I’ve also recently moved to the Isle of Mull to try it on and see how we fit!

How did you get involved with Glasgow Coffee Festival?

I have been involved with the festival in one way or another since it started. Helping out at the fest, handing out posters or running the cycles. It’s a very lovely and wholesome event in Glasgow and I'm super proud we have it here!

What can people expect from the cycle this year?

Folk can expect a lovely chill ride and a stop at a cool coffee shop - Thomson's Coffee. It’ll be around some stunning country lanes.

Glasgow is so close to the countryside so at only 35km of cycling we can see it all!

Where is your favourite place in Glasgow for a coffee?

My favourite place in Glasgow for coffee varies. I love a little stand up flatty at SLB's espresso bar or a lush sit in flatty and Basque cheesecake at Zennor.

Other favourite places are Laboratorio Espresso in town and Thomson's in Giffnock. Their coffee shop interior is beaut!

What’s your go-to coffee order?

My coffee order is always a flat white. Preferably made with natural process (specifically Ethiopian).

Tickets for Sam’s cycle are live now but spaces are limited so grab one asap! You can also check out the route if you want to find out more.
