meet your #gcf26 emcee!

Ready to meet your GCF26 MC? Introducing Amie Wischmeier! A familiar face for those involved in last year’s Roast Hero competition, Amie’s back this year to keep things rolling on the GCF mainstage, where we’ll be welcoming many incredible speakers to discuss key issues affecting the world of coffee today!

What’s your name, and where are you from?

Amie Wischmeier- Phoenix, Arizona- Scotland 16 years.

What's your role at GCF26?

Emcee of GCF 2026.

What's your favourite cafe/roastery in Glasgow/Scotland?

This is a hard question because there are so many great places in Glasgow alone, let alone Scotland as a whole. I will say that Amulet (Glasgow) &  Ante (Edinburgh) tie for first place favourite Coffee spot. As for favourite roastery in Glasgow, that is easy to answer. Zennor absolute wow me every time I tried one of their brews. It's a hit every time.

What's your favourite thing about Glasgow Coffee Festival?

The Briggait is hands down the best venue of all the festivals I have ever been to. It was my first Coffee Festival experience and remains to be my favourite.

Are there any vendors/speakers you're particularly excited about?

I am very excited for all the vendors as so many of my friends from this community will be working on them so it means I get the opportunity to see my favourite people in my favourite environment nerding out on coffee.

Aside from coffee, what are your passions?

My dog Toast is my world and if you've ever spent more than 5 minutes with me in a conversation, I will have mentioned him at least once, and shown you an album of how beautiful he is.

If you could have coffee with anyone, anywhere in the world, who would you choose, and where would you meet?

Location is easy. Anywhere the sun is shining and there's a body of water in sight. The who is the tricky part to this question. I think I'd really like to take a coffee break with my brother. I don't see him often since he lives back in the states so having a coffee break with my big bro sounds like a nice way to spend a day.

What tunes are you adding to the festival playlist?

Absolutely hitting the Glasgow scene with some Chris Stapleton/Luke Combs/Ella Langley and of course some throw back Emo tunes to highlight the millennials in the crowd.
